'Google Me' beat Facebook?

Honestly, do you think Google will ever develop something that will topple Facebook? A rumor is going around (started by Kevin Rose) that Google is creating a new social networking competitor for Facebook. Yes, I've tried Buzz but I couldn't stick with it because I was too in love with Twitter, and that's the reason Google is having trouble beating the social networking giants of the web (Facebook and Twitter). People don't want a search engine site that is offering social networking; its like buying a computer at a farm in the middle of nowhere, its not going to happen.
